The year ended reported a significant increase in criminal activities in the network of networks. Since the explosion of viruses such as Sobig and Blaster, to the growth of child pornography sites or international terrorism, the Internet has become an ideal space for illegal operations.

One of the characteristics of the Wold Wide Web (www) is the anonymity or the ability to disguise the origin of their activities. While police organizations around the world almost created specialized bodies to combat crime in the network, hackers and crackers are constantly looking for ways to not disclose their operating point.

According to experts, crime in the network could be divided into three groups. First, the hackers rebel attack aimed at large companies or government entities for ideological purposes. For example, the famous Blaster virus, which affected over 800 000 computers worldwide, included a message by calling Bill Gates to stop hoarding money and fix your software.

The official sites are the main target of the second type, crackers terrorists. Proof of this was the discovery made on 17 December by the U.S. space agency (NASA), as confirmed how thirteen of their websites show modifications made by outsiders to that entity, according to Government Computer News.
According to statements by a NASA spokesman, the attackers have changed the contents of the virtual spaces, forcing the institution is to leave them offline.

Also, the media attributed to “cyber terrorist attacks” blackouts last year in Canada, New York and London. According to these sources, “this type of criminal activity in the network is the greatest concern to the United States for what they have created new computer defense squads at the Pentagon, with the sole purpose of tracking and arrest suspected cyber-terrorists.”

Moreover, and perhaps most troubling, is the Cibermafia or organized crime operating in the network. In 2003 there was a sophisticated extortion to commercial sites or the cessation of excessive weight of their sites.
Issuers such as the BBC explained that these new criminals have been released to conquer cyberspace with sites hijacking of commercial and ransom demands of tens of thousands of dollars.

According to experts from the British Crime Unit Technology, this new type of attacks has increased substantially in recent weeks. The blows, increasingly frequent, consist in adding excessive weight to the Web sites of different companies, which are completely paralyzed. After being released, those responsible for the page are ordered to pay large sums of money to keep the site stops again.

Microsoft has created a system of alerts to publish a blacklist credentials theft or phishing (e-deceptive to obtain personal data). When it detects an item of mail fraud or theft of personal data are published and communicated to the concerned entity (shop online, bank, ..) so you can respond quickly and enhance the security of the internet system. According to Microsoft, in 2009, the Anti-Phishing Working Group received over 410 000 warnings.

“Through the centralized system of alerts technology supported Microsoft’s Internet Fraud Alert promptly inform the companies whose credentials are compromised, allowing them to take appropriate action to protect their customers,” says the company, which has donated the technology to National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance (NCFTA), with whom it collaborates in the project.

In The Register raised the issue of false positives. When a surfer who has not done anything wrong nor has their compromised accounts listed and its activity is blocked.

Microsoft has led the courts to a U.S. company to open thousands of accounts on its Hotmail email service and so can send spam from legitimate.

All crimes can now be IT-related. Cyber crime can thus be anything from financial crimes to hacking, copyright infringement, trademark infringement and online trading of illegal services and products such as pimping and drugs

IT-related crime can occur both on the Internet and in traditional physical environments.

For hacking the penalty is a fine or imprisonment up to two years. For computer fraud is the same sentence unless the crime is considered to be serious. For serious computer fraud penalty is less than six months to six years in prison.

Kinds of cyber crime :

Cyber Charter of Fundamental Rights : V – IX

Here anothers of our Rights that we have to fight in cyber space…

VI. We have the Right to Maintain Control Over Our Data

Everyone should have access to the data that are available about him. What does that, one should not be taken. We want content on the Internet are in principle transferable to ensure that data and products of individuals can not be kept under wraps by a provider or a government. We must keep in mind that the control that a person is given, another is taken, the devil is in those details. This principle therefore also relates to the issue of copyright and related laws that purport to restrict and what exactly is a protected work. Also this principle raises questions about whether the wisdom of the masses belongs to the masses.

VII We have the Right to an Identity

This is not just the name. Our online identity consists of our names, addresses, comments, works, actions and contacts. One must not forget that anonymity – the concealment of identity – in an authoritarian regime is a necessity. Therefore, the online anonymity, stay, with all its faults, all the drawbacks that it entails and all the spirits that she calls, protected, so that the dissenters and whistleblowers can be protected. Please also note that these two items – which account for control of our data and our identity – the right to privacy, which is actually a question of control.

VIII All that is Public is a Good Public

The Internet is public, in fact it is a public place (much more than a medium). For all the vehemence with which privacy should be protected, we must be aware of the dangers that it entails, if we restrict the definition of what is public. All that is publicly heard in camera. If we make the public private or secret, we play with the corrupt and the tyrants in their hands.

IX. The Internet should be Expanded Open and Operate

The Internet must be open standards developed and operated. It must not control a company or government be assumed. There must be no taxes are levied on the net. It is the openness of the Internet, which gives him his freedom. And this freedom constitutes the Internet.

There are several of our Rights that we have to fight in cyber space…

Cyber Charter of Fundamental Rights

There are several of our Rights that we have to fight in cyber space…

I. We have the Right to Link to Us

Before we can talk to each other, we need to get in touch with each other. Hillary Clinton defined free networking as “the idea that government is the people’s access to the Internet, websites or contact the people should not stop themselves.” This principle also a basis for the discussion of network neutrality.

II We have the Right to Express Ourselves Freely

No one may curtail our right to freedom of expression. We recognize that there must be limits. But these limits should be defined as precisely as possible, so we must use in relation to an infringement not necessarily always the lowest common denominator. Freedom is our standard.

III. We have the Right to Speak Our Own Language

The dominance of English on the Internet has diminished as more and more languages and alphabets have arrived in the network. We should welcome this fact. Ethan Zuckerman has however pointed out that we should build our polyglot Internet bridges between the languages. We should both speak our own language and that of others want.

IV We have the Right to Freedom of Assembly

In the American Bill of Rights the right to freedom of assembly and the right to freedom of expression should be separated. The Internet allows that we can organize ourselves beyond institutions and work together. For authoritarian regime which is as threatening as the freedom of expression.

Create a Cyber Charter of Fundamental Rights

I believe that we need for the cyberspace a Charter of Fundamental Rights, the John Perry Barlow’s “Declaration of the Independence of supplements Cyber Space” from the year 1996. To me it’s not about to give the Internet a constitution. That would be almFost a rape of Barlow’s teachings, which he so eloquently, indeed almost grandiose points out, has. We need security in cyberspace with no government, we need freedom. This Bill of Rights is to establish the fundamental freedoms of the Internet, which must be protected against restrictions imposed by governments, companies, institutions, criminals, insurgents and criminal gangs. Google behaves in the confrontation with China as the ambassador of the ancient world of the Internet according to its own (rediscovered) Enterprise principles. It is therefore wise to determine our own principles and to discuss.

Don’t worry. You can get fha mortgage loans today!

From a sample of accounting firm Ernst and Young, quarter of the companies is inadequate security against cyber criminals. The economic crisis plays an important role.

Of the respondents, one in eight companies last year some were the victims of cyber fraud in which money was stolen. One in ten companies were copied sensitive information. Here I was terrified of it. Did not realize how close it was! The damage that cyber criminals cause is not known exactly, but this involves billions of euros. Not normal. Time for action.

Entrepreneurs should take measures against these cyber criminals, but by the economic crisis, they are less inclined to invest in system security. In 43 percent of respondents have access to the system is not sufficiently regulated and sensitive data.

Computer Systems

The research shows that cyber crime has increased significantly in 2009. Also viruses, spam and spyware are common on farms. Slightly more than half have large amounts of spam. At 38 percent was infected by computer viruses and spyware. The threat comes not only from outside, because (former) employees are also a major risk factor. Jacob Verschuur, director of Ernst and Young, states that if a trajectory of an employee on the trip, the employee resentment copying sensitive data.

In what is Russia top list of threats, Israel second, and France and Brazil shared third and fourth place? Moreover, with China as a shadow of options on everything going?

It is the ranking of countries where the most dangerous cyber crime comes from. In Russia, the combined state, organized crime and dangerous individuals destructive force. Israel used cybercrime to his political interests to defend, France supports there are economic interests them. From Brazil is becoming more electronic financial crime committed. And China is catching up, but everything goes so fast and so widespread that it is only a matter of time before the country also appears prominently on the list .

These warnings are in a long article in Atlantic Monthly, entitled Cyber Warriors. James Fallows, former correspondent in China, it is an alarming prediction: there will sooner or later an electronic equivalent of 9 / 11. And even now, says Fallows, we could see it coming.

After a long run in which he notes that China is not being able to respond militarily against the United States, he describes the vulnerability of advanced countries for cybercrime. Fallows cites computer expert Eugene Spafford:

It is well-funded and Pursued by mature Individuals and groups of professionals with deep financial and technical resources, in loss or with local government (or Other countries’) if not toleration support. Already it is Responsible for billions of dollars a year in losses, and it is growing and Become more capable. Have we largely ignored it.

Mike McConnell, former security chief, notes that the biggest deal about being silent.

No credit card company wants to ADMIT in loss or how it is or how Easily Cheated. No bank or investment house wants to ADMIT how close it Has Come to electronically-being robbed. As A result, the changes in law, regulation, concept, or habit That Could make life safer online do not get discussed.

Internet has come with blessing side benefits for human to deal with a vast array of individual interest. We can take lots of advantages from this meta-medium to get information, run businesses, make money, online education, social community building, healthcare, services, and many more.

The increasing adherence of the people to the internet has caused a certain extent of individual dependence on it. With regards to the safe and comfort sense of individual and institutional users of internet, we need a set of cyber law whereby any disobeying manner and breaching acts of irresponsible people can be treated best as a form of cyber crimes.

Even though most of countries in the world have not been imposing the similar cyber law, some online corporate and huge companies have been applying the legal provision in accordance to each home country. Any form of jurisdictional lawsuit, criminal process, and legal dispute settlements will be referring the national authorities where the head-office of online companies is located.

Good news is that people in general and indirectly, agree any forms of common ethics rule of using internet. This might be a good manner of individual users of internet worldwide amidst the existing irresponsible manners of online scammers, hackers, and website crackers.

Aside from how the regulatory compliance of the forthcoming internet jurisdiction will be, cyber is still expected to be enabled to protect the continuing comfort and sustainability of meta-medium world.
